2010-2011 High Performance Centre
General Info Programs Times and Location Refunds/Makeup Sessions Online Registration Contacts
The Port Moody Soccer Club invites all of its players in the U8 through U14 age groups to register for the 2010-2011 High Performance Centre player development program. The High Performance Centre focuses solely on the player development of boys and girls in these age groups. Our season-long player development program is designed for self-motivated, determined and committed players to achieve an advanced level of technical skills. These sessions will match like-skilled players for intensive and personal training with our coaches to achieve rapid development of skill.
The program focus is, above all, on individual player development with access to professional, qualified staff through Coerver Coaching BC. The Coerver Coaching method has been endorsed and recommended by FIFA and UEFA along with several professional clubs, coaches, players and national federations.
All programs, sessions and planning are geared towards individual player development. Club teams are burdened by the fact that they often have to gear their practices with emphasis on team development and game situations, which reduces the time available for individual player development. The Player Development Program is in addition to team practice and gives players the guarantee that they have the repetitions they need for their own development.
Our High Performance Centre consists of a structured 19-week program with:
objectives for every session, designed to deliver progressions appropriate to the age group and talent
an environment with a high-level of intensity for the age group that is both challenging and fun
supports the player’s performance aspirations, with recognition of different skill levels
specially designed team-wear to boost camaraderie among players and identify them as players dedicated to improving their skills
The High Performance Centre will be held in two different sessions on Monday nights; the first session will be geared towards the needs of our younger players (U8 - U10) and the second being offered to our competitive and Super-8 players (U11 - U14).
U8 - U10 Players (top)
Our High Performance Centre program for U8-U10 players is designed to support the developing player who is looking to learn more about the game and advance their skill and knowledge. The program is built upon refining and advancing technical and tactical skills in a positive environment to help players develop and further their soccer goals. Working with Coerver, players will receive specialized training with other players of similar skill.
U11 - U14 Players
Our High Performance Centre program for U11-U14 players is structured to support players serious about their advancement in the game and strive to play at a high level. Attendance, a positive attitude and a strong work ethic are expected. The program is built upon a curriculum of individual player development using advanced technical and tactical training techniques. Working with Coerver, players will receive specialized training with other players of similar skill.
Goalkeeping Academy
This program is recommended for U9 - U14 keepers at all skill levels. In order to keep the player to instructor ratio low, a maximum of 12 keepers will be accepted into the program. Two separate one hour time slots are tentatively scheduled with 6 keepers in each of the two session. Final placement in time slots will be done after the close of registration:
