There are so many reasons that influence the numbers for girls in sport. At Port Moody Soccer Club, we want to stand on the side of history where we actively make change towards higher numbers of girls registered to play! So how do we do that?
Role Models
We are so thrilled and thankful to have the incredible coaches that we do, but especially proud of Brittany Baxter as our technical director. Ensuring that we have female role models and leaders is an important part of making little girls envision themselves in those roles as athletes and leaders.
Resources
At Port Moody Soccer, we want to ensure every girl and every woman has a place to play. With our attitude and resources, it's always our intention to ensure there is unlimited access to programs, fields, coaching and more.
Health and Fitness
By focussing on sport, we hope to build the confidence for girls that will extend to the rest of their lives. We want girls to know that they belong on the field or in whatever sport they choose.

We are doing a very fun event at our new Inlet turf field, Celebrating Girls and Women in Soccer. We will have many fun stations (such as dribbling station, shooting station, etc..), renowned children’s DJ Rock N Beau will be the MC and playing some fun music.
We will also be providing free freezies, and hot dogs. No registration just community fun! So come out and kick the ball and bring every girl and woman you know. :)

Port Moody Soccer Club has a mission to inspire any and every girl and woman who has thought about soccer, to come out and kick the ball with us. We are dedicated to promoting girls in sports and inspiring you to join in the excitement of soccer this season. We have programs from U2 to Adult. We know that having girls in sport means creating opportunities and providing support for girls to participate in various athletic activities. It involves encouraging girls to engage in physical exercise, develop their skills, and compete. This not only promotes physical health but also builds confidence, teamwork, leadership, and resilience.
At Port Moody Soccer Club, our programs aims to break down gender barriers, challenge stereotypes, and ensure that girls have the same access to facilities, training, and opportunities as boys. It’s about empowering young women to pursue their passions and dreams in the athletic arena, fostering a love for sports that can last a lifetime. By having more girls in sports, we're advocating for equality, diversity, and a healthier, more active society.
