We are saddened to inform you that Alex Coombes, one of our PMSC Community Members, passed away on Feb 14th.
Alex was a Director at Large on our Port Moody SC Board of Directors, he was PMSC U9 Team Coach, Parent, and Friend at our club. His contributions to the Port Moody Soccer Club are extensive. The work Alex did to help the club grow while on our BoD, and achieve, amongst many other things the Canada National Youth Club License this past year is tremendous, and will never be forgotten. He made these contributions to the field while on the field as a team coach, he ensured the players are developing while having FUN and playing with smiles on their faces.
On Wednesday, Feb 22nd, at the PMSC Awards our President, Matthew Campbell, will announce the Annual Club Bursary in Alex Coombes' name. It will be for a player who exhibits leadership on and off the field. Alex exhibited this as a Board Member, Coach, and club member. We will also start with a moment of silence.
At Port Moody SC we are much more than a soccer club. We are incredibly proud of how our PMSC Community came together this past Saturday to remember and honour Reese Mueller in our Inaugural Reese Mueller Memorial Tournament, and to support her family. There has been a Go Fund me Page started for the family.
